A Brief Introduction to the Concept of Healing and Energy
Any ordinary dictionary will say that 'to heal' means to make whole, or to bring back to health. In other words, when someone is healed the person returns to a state of balance. For as long as the homo sapiens have been around healing has been part of our culture and our everyday life. We have always, no matter what modifications we have created, been a vulnerable species without any built-in shield, fur or other protective layer. You could be tempted to say that we are wearing ourselves inside out, always leaving ourselves vulnerable to the physical world. Thus, healing of wounds, other stress factors, emotional troubles, etc. is an important part of living. In modern day thought, healing is considered as belonging to spiritual, holistic or alternative traditions, but the conception goes back much further. In Greek mythology Apollo and Asclepius were considered gods of healing. In Roman mythology it was Mercury. In Christianity, Jesus was the great healer, who to this day has a strong presence in various religious communities. In the Middle Ages, the pagans practiced the healing powers of herbs. In india to this very day, Ayurveda, an ancient healing system, is a great holistic science that embraces healing as a natural part of life. It is safe to conclude that there is a wide range of healing practices in the world, some are closer to the conventional and so-called scientific approach than others. On that note, it is also becoming more common that practitioners of conventional medicine bring in alternative ways, combining the best of each mind set. The general holistic approach to healing is viewing the body as more than a mere physical manifestation. Simply put, it looks at the body as a vehicle of mental and emotional energy and spirit. On this level, illnesses and symptoms arising in the body are energetic imbalances, not just originated from physical influences, but stress reactions or blockages coming from within. It is curious how differently people deal with illnesses and traumas. Some people can smoke 20 cigarettes a day for many years without getting any serious health problems, when others get very sick from it. How is that people living under the same conditions dont necessarily get the same health problems? Two people might be exposed to the same kind of virus, and only one of them will develop the symptoms. Look closer at your own everyday life. The likelihood that these kinds of instances are more common than not. This is one of the main reasons why I believe there is more to health than meets the eye. There is within ourselves a unique composition, which is creating our lives, on mental, emotional and physical levels, all of which are connected to our consciousness. This is not an uncommon idea in our society, various scholars from subjects like psychology, science, medicine, philosophy, and religion have reflected on this. This article, however, is not about the ongoing debate on healing among scholars. My article is based on the perspective that healing is a real thing and that we all have the capability to heal and be healed. We live in a world very focused on the substance of matter, i.e. what is visible, what is tangible. But matter is only one part of our reality, the densest of them all. Energy is another level of our reality, which has in various way been looked at by scientists like Einstein, quantum physics deal with the topic, and the Yogis in India have for centuries spoken about energy. Energy works differently from the ways of matter, which is also why we cannot speak of it as we do of matter, and our experience of it is likely to be different too. The energetic makeup of matter is really what is in focus when talking about most healing systems. If an imbalance in the body (the level of matter) occurs, there is an energetic imbalance, which is manifesting in the physical realm. By going straight to the energetic level the cause not just the symptom can be healed. As energy works in non-physical ways, a mere thought or wish can alter the makeup of an energetic constitution, i.e. a human being, an animal, a plant, etc.
The Body Mirror System is a set of tools through which you can learn to understand this connection inside better, and through which you can find healing of any tensions that have arisen in consciousness. It is a synthesis of Western psychology and Eastern philosophies, primarily grounded in the concept of the reality of energy centers chakras in the body, which are found in Yoga and Ayurveda, the most prevalent Indian traditions of today. The chakras, which are associated with certain parts of the body, glands and certain organs, form a map of the consciousness within, which can be read and understood via the body and the energetic makeup of it. In other words, tensions in the body reflect tensions occurring in consciousness, and tension turn into stress and stress causes symptoms. Through a deeper understanding of the root causes of imbalances, i.e. tensions in consciousness, the body can be healed from any symptoms.
The Body Mirror System works with a number of different tools like using thought forms, color, intuition and manifestation techniques.
